YOUROPE FOR RIGHTS, PEOPLE BEYOND BORDERS!

“Yourope for Rights” has parallel aims at two different levels:

At general level it aims at getting a pictures among the wider public on the perception of immigration (especially asylum seekers and refugees) - through a survey to be conducted in at least 5 European countries – , at fostering debate and the formulation of recommendations directed to the European policy makers, and at creating the tools for further awareness raising caimpagn and projects At pratical level it aims at creating opportunities for mutual knowledge and interaction targeting local population, immigrants and refugees. All the partner will be involved in the creation and dissemination of the survey, in the creation of public events (involving international participants, local communities, immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, non governamental bodies and public authorities on the theme of human right protection, in particular right of asylum), in facilitating the relationship between European institutions and citizens. Key-concept behind every action will be the promotion of volunteering as method of active  participation and citizenship in Europe. New and old EU Member States will be involved in the project, exploring an European issue from the Mediterranean and
Central European perspective. The groups of participants will be as balanced and diverse as possible, a special effort on including people with fewer opportunities will be put in place. Involvement of immigrants and stakeholders will be a must in all events. As an long-lasting outcome there will be a publication and a CD-ROM with contributions from  all the partners. The website will serve as a communication tool towards to the wider public and as a platform for exchange for the project’s partners.
